My oil painting dries too slow is that normal?

I am new at this, and it's been 3 days and still my oil painting did not dry. I heard acrylic dries faster, is that true?

How long do i have to wait until my painting dries? My oil painting dries too slow is that normal?
4 days to one week depends on the thickness you applied on canvas or on board. There are some kind of medium for oil painting that help drying time faster. Get some books at your local library with fully instructions. They are free.

Oil painting is fun but it takes a tremendous patient also.

Acrylic for sure dries faster because is a water base but slow dying time in oil side sometime helps you to correct what ever you don't like when you haven't totally finished .

Try to do with 2 or more paintings at a time rather than one so you don't have to wait

Hope that will help.My oil painting dries too slow is that normal?
Acrylic paint dries almost instantly depending on how much water is mixed with the paint becuase acrylics are glue-based and Oilcolors are oil-based. Oil paint can take even weeks to dry depending on how ';oily'; the paint is, if you use the colors right fronm the tube the paint will dry really slowly, same effect if you use oil to blend the color. If you use artist-turps with the paint it dries faster for the color is very thin. You should start painting with paintmix that has more turps than paint and add more paint as you do more layers. Be patient with the drying it can take a very long time if the paint is thick.
Oil paint does take a long time to dry. A few days to up to a week or more depending on how thick it is and the climate. Acrylic dries way faster; it takes only a few minutes, in fact.
