I just got oil paint on my cat!?

I left an oil painting I just made on the counter my cat jumped up and got it all over her neck!

what should I do?

How bad is oil paint for a cat to consume?I just got oil paint on my cat!?
It's pretty bad.

The pigments in many oil-base paints are toxic. See link, and scroll down to the ';toxicity'; section.I just got oil paint on my cat!?
Hmmm good question.

Washing the cat will not work since soap does not dissolve dried oil paint. Mineral spirits will work but I would definately not put that on a cats since it toxic!

I would trim the fur from the area as close as possible. If you can't get her to lie still for you call a vet and have them do it.

(In fact, call the vet either way for advice.)

Hope this helps, Good Luck.
Maybe just try to wash the oil paint off just a bit, if it spreads even a little stop immediately! Then if that doesn't work, just start to cut as much of the hair off as you can, you don't want to take any chances of your cat getting poisoned.

Just keep an eye on her and she should be alright.

Hope I helped!
WASH THE CAT! WASH THE CAT!
you should wash your cat...even if it hates water, you want a clean cat right?

I don't know how bad it is for a cat to consume oil paint.
