Someone I know is redoing their bathroom tuscan style (gag) and she put a big freakin oil painting right on the wall (will wooden framing and everything) and I'm wondering if the steam or moisture from showers and what not will somehow ruin it?? ThanksIf you have an oil painting in your very tiny bathroom (don't ask), will steam from the shower ruin it?
Even with using a fan ventilator in the bathroom, I am willing to bet (with odds) that over a period of time, the painting will suffer terribly. I hope for your friend's sake, it wasnt an expensive oil painting or one she wants to keep. Oils are not made to be in a damp or moist environment. If you have an oil painting in your very tiny bathroom (don't ask), will steam from the shower ruin it?
Maybe they don't use that bathroom often, or maybe the painting was purchased for cheap, or maybe your friend simply isn't worried about it! Maybe you shouldn't worry about it either.
And since everyone has different taste - maybe your friend really likes the Tuscan look and is entitled to enjoy their bathroom.
Just maybe.
Well it sure won't help it. Lets hope your friend has a very good exhaust fan in the bathroom. Oil painting should be kept in a room without excess humidity.
