How long do oil paints last?

My father gave me some tubes of oil paint many years ago, before he died. They will be REALLY old now - I'm guessing about 30 years at the very least. Will they still be usable?How long do oil paints last?
so far...up to almost 500 years and counting on paintings....but in the tube it depends on whether they've been exposed to air causing them to catalize and harden. give the tube a nudge and see if its still got any give. if they'll squirt they'll paint.How long do oil paints last?
Yes because it contains oil chemical thingy that won't let it dry if you don't close the lid.


I'm using old one too-- I got them when i was 9 years old and now I'm 20, i do use it. It is very old fashioned material but it is worth because it has a great quality and durable.
I still have oil paints form five years ago that are still good but that's very little compared to 30 years. I think it depends on how well the paint was preserved. The only way to find out is to open the tubes. ;)

You'll have to mix it up to get the consistency uniformly again but YES, they will still be useable.
