Why do conte crayons and oil paints cost so much?

Well? Why do conte crayons and oil paints cost so much?
Quality costs. It's that simple. I can go to a toy store and get cheap oil paints, but nothing works so smoothly and cleanly as well mixed oils from an experience manufacturer.

Same is, probably true of conte' crayons, but, I only bought those from reputable art supply stores.

It's the reason pros tend to buy the best products, regardless of the cost. A pro likes to save money, the same as everyone else, but it isn't really saving anything if the product doesn't work as well. A professional mechanic does not buy his tools at the dollar store, even if they ARE a lot cheaper.

I spend thousands of dollars on my software applications because I know how they work and that I can depend on them to work well. I could, I suppose, spend a lot less on freeware and other, off brand sofware, but my clients pay me good money because they know I produce quality work. And, the more quality work I produce, the more money I can make. I need my design applications to work right the first time, to the best of MY abilities. I don't need ';cheapware'; (what used to be called, ';shovelware';) to slow me down. Why do conte crayons and oil paints cost so much?
I can't put that any better, QUALITY over QUANTITY
