Series 1 is made with artificial colors(chemically or man made).
It often has filler and consider lower quality. When paint dries, it has a white film and colors are less bright.
Series 2 has more natural pigment (like crushed rock).
It has less filler and colors are more vibrant. Better quality.
Series 2 has a mixture of man made pigments and natural pigments.
If you want the brightest colors and quality you will need to look at a series 3 or 4. They usually do not have any man-made pigments at all. Depends on the brand. Paints are different from brand to brand.
The higher the number the better the quality. With higher quality comes higher prices. People who view art really knotice the difference in quality.
Ask the supply dealer, they should be experts on the brands they carry, especially when it comes to Art Supplies. What is the difference between series 1 and series 2 oil paints?
The different between series 1 and series 2 is very clearly but you gain detail information in this website http://www.collect-art.com
