You are painting oil base over latex. you'll need to sand first and then prime with a good primer like kilz or zinser. oil base wont stick to latex it will bubble and peel.Im painting my cupboard with and oil base paint and its not working HELP?
If you are painting over an existing paint you need to make sure you are using hte same kind of paint. You cannot put oil based paint on latex paint which may be the problem. Most interior paint is latex. It would basically be like putting oil in water. Your best bet if you want to use the paint you have is to sand down the cupboard or use an oil based primer then paint with the oil-based paint.
Consider your surface... is it plastic? Woodgrain? What kind of paint are you painting over, was it oil based also? No? Was your paint mixed well? Was it mismatched paint or quality paint? Look at the paint can, does it say what kinds of surfaces it will not adhere to?
