In art stores, I always find many types of texture products for acrylic paints, but I love oil and would like to experiment with it.. so if you have some tips.. i'd be grateful...I would like to know how I can make different textures with oil painting?
Yes, you can use the oil straight out of the tube with a palette knife...but this can be extremely expensive if you are working on a large scale. Oils can be used over acrylic mediums...I have experimented with textures underneath the oil paint using different types of acrylic medium and building up gesso...both work great. Oil paint sort of absorbs into acrylic medium in a gorgeous way...I would suggest all of these techniques, along with painting impasto. Good luck!I would like to know how I can make different textures with oil painting?
It depends on what kind of textures you want. Using a knife helps, but so do different types of brushes (such as the fan brush, line brush, #2 brush, etc)
Also, your strokes play an important role in the texture of your painting. Shading the proper places gives the piece more depth.
Use the oil paint straight out of the tube and apply with a palate knife. Don鈥檛 over mix and shape-texture with the knife into what you want.
Keep Arting!

you always want to try something different so experiment with things even around your house that can create different textures. You may be surprised and like what you come up with
