Best oil paint brand?

Best brand of oil paint in tubes? Ex. Rembrandt, Winsor and Newton, Gamblin, Old Holland, Williamsburg, Blick, Utrecht?Best oil paint brand?
Depends on how you like your paint. Some companies add fillers or other substances to even out the consistency; some add more oil, others less; in some the ultramarine, for example, is very stringy and hard to manoeuvre. Some companies are geared toward specific palettes - Sennelier to the Impressionists, for example.





WN is best known and probably all-around reliable; Old Holland until recently had an authentic 17thC palette but has added new lines and synthetic pigments; Williamsburg has a number of unusual earths; Blockx is wonderful to paint with. M. Graham produces superior quality in a limited palette. Yarka comes from Russia and there are several brands from China which are not recommended because there are as yet no safety standards in that country.





So, as you can see, there is no one 'best' brand. But experience will point you to the one that you will prefer to use.Best oil paint brand?
Grumbacher and Winsor %26amp; Newton are well known worldwide for their quality.
I'm very happy with Blick
I tend to use Blick because it's cheaper and works. I've been told that Winsor %26amp; Newton is good if you want good quality...I haven't yet broken out of my art student state of mind yet though and haven't allowed myself to buy good paints yet (they're too expensive).
Winsor and Newton they are pricy but well worth it.
depends on what you want. I have always used cheap Winsor and Newton because I use extremely heavy amounts of raw paint. It also allows for good drips and drys to my liking.
winsor is the best.
Gamblin or old Holland out of the ones you listed
Grumbacher, Blockx and Daniel Smith--in this order. Professional grade.

I sugest You to paint with Sanct Petersburg Oils ( Russia) - Ladoga. I work wiyh them 15 years, and unfortunatly they are not nothing more qualitative than them. Especially if You work with portraits not with abstract subject!
