What is the difference between and oil painting and a print?

I have an old maurice utrillo piece of art and I dont know if its oil or a print.What is the difference between and oil painting and a print?

If it was oil paint, you would be able to feel the grooves, or see some type of clumps or something.. paint strokes.. and be able to feel them.


print is just completely flat.What is the difference between and oil painting and a print?
it is most likely a print that has been varnished.





Take it to an art specialist (i.e. contact Sotheby's) if you think it may be the real deal.
