I made a painting with oil paints and it is taking forever to dry. Do oil paints ever dry completely? And how long does it usually take?Do oil paints ever dry by themselves?
theres a special thing to add with oil paint that can dry for 2 hours. I think it is linserine but i am not sure...ask someone in the art store.
I paint small amount of oil paint on canvas and it got dry for about probably 3 days. with more amount of it, they tend to dry a bit longer maybe like a week or so.
the dark ones like black dry a bit fast than the light ones.Do oil paints ever dry by themselves?
yeah that is the beauty of oils and the curse, they take a very long time to dry. you will probably have to wait weeks at least. you could mix in a fast drying medium which will cut down the dry time to 1-2 days, but it effects the quality of the paint. if you want paint that dries faster you should go with acrylic, they only take a few minutes to dry.
They do but, they dry from the inside out so it takes awhile unless you add drying medium to the paint.
yep just wait a few weeks/months
