Latex or oil-based paint (for interior)?

which is better for painting a living room?

does oil-based paint look nicer? i know it takes a really long time to dry...Latex or oil-based paint (for interior)?
Good quality Latex all the way. Get a finish that is washable.Latex or oil-based paint (for interior)?
Latex is by far the best choice. You can get a flat or a semi gloss. One would usually use a flat paint in a living room. It covers well and is very easy to work with. You can just toss the roller away after using it and clean up can be done with soap and water since it is water based. Good painting!
Latex! Trust me! I work for a lumber company and i mix paint and stain every day! Latex goes on smoother, its very easy to clean up. Just use soap and water. You cant do that with oil. Oil bases work well for a deck and stairs.
Oil does look better but not by much.It is also a nightmare to clean up after painting.

Go with latex.
Go with latex.
Latex paint is now superior to oil although you cant tell many oldtimers that
Latex, it's less toxic.
Oil based paint does not necessarily look nicer. You can get latex in flat, egggshell, satin, semi-gloss and gloss, which covers just about everything.

If your walls look crappy before you paint them, they will look crappy after you paint them, but at least the color will look even, even if the wall is shot.

A good oil based paint might be more durable than latex, but even then I would probably consider using it only on a floor or deck. The more important thing is the preparation, because if your walls are covered in an inch of chicken fat and grease then anything you use for paint will just roll up and fall off.
Oil based paint is much harder to work with and clean up. It is also inconvenient to paint over the top of if you decide later to use a latex. Latex based paint is definitely the way to go.
Latex. There is absolutely zero reason to use oil-based paint inside your house. Its for protection due to the elements and to keep moisture in and out of wood.
