Have you used watersoluble oil paints?

I've been reading about them and am curious - are they similar to acrylics? what is the benefit of using them over acrylics? do you combine them with other mediums? any useful insight you have would be appreciated.Have you used watersoluble oil paints?
They are more like oils than acrylics. Acrylics tend to dry a bit darker or lighter than they come out of the tube (usually darker) and dry very fast. You can't get the same ';wet on wet'; blending effects that you get with oils. Water soluble oils dry slower than acrylics and stay the same color. They don't blend as easily as traditional oils; the texture is not as good. I tried them for a while and ended up going back to the regular oils.Have you used watersoluble oil paints?
Have not used them myself, but I have a couple of friends who have and say that they are very close to regular oil paints, not acrylics. The main reason people would pick oil over acrylic is if they want the paint to remain more flexible for a longer period of time. Oils do that because they dry more slowly. And the advantage of water-soluble oil paint is that you don't have to use a fumy thinner with them, just water.
I tried them in the early 90s...did not like how they blended...I'm sure they have inproved by now.
